Singapore Polytechnic

In 1954, Singapore Polytechnic (SP) was established as Singapore’s first polytechnic. Its 10 academic schools offer 49 full-time diploma courses for its 15,500 students. Operating under the purview of SP’s Department for Technology, Innovation and Enterprise (or TIE in short), and part of the larger SP Technology Group, the Technology & Innovation Centres (TIC) create innovative technologies that contribute to industry, and serve as platforms to enrich education.

Staffed with more than 90 full-time researchers, the TICs enable our industry partners to move up the value-chain with innovative technologies in areas such as Advanced Materials, Advanced Robotics, Biomedical & Life Sciences, Food Technologies and Infocomm Technologies through Technology Transfer and various other forms of collaboration.

As one of the appointed agencies, SP is also partnering SPRING Singapore to offer some of the Innovation and Productivity grant schemes to assist the Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) with their technological capabilities upgrading. Such assistance schemes cover co-funding for most part of the technology development work, including subsidy for licensing component.
