Taggalo

A spinoff of the National Research Council, and winner of Telecom Italia’s Working Capital ICT award, Taggalo integrates video analytics and wireless technologies to collect contextual data and provide retailers and outdoor adverting media owners with metrics to take fact based decisions.

Low cost sensors, proprietary data models and flexible data visualization templates allow to track in real time all the key metrics related to path to purchase conversions and sales effectiveness in retail, as well as detailed adv metrics for the outdoor market. Raw data collected via Taggalo sensors include for retail: outside traffic, # people stopping in front of a shopping windows, dwell time, entrants, length of stay, new vs. returning visitors, demographic profile (gender, age ethnicity); for outdoor: gross and net impressions, average frequency of exposure, reach and demographic profiles (as above), # viewers, dwell time down to single ADV level. Taggalo is privacy compliant: no personal data is store or recorded.  Patented Proof of Display technology certifies and ADV message has been displayed in a given location at a given time. Automatic display failure tracking triggers a power reboot, which is effective in 95% of cases, therefore saving personnel and maintenance costs to media owners. 

Taggalo’s target markets are worth several USD billions. In retail these include: i) distributed store networks, ii) department stores, iii) travel retail / duty free, iv) malls. Within outdoor advertising: i) retail and malls, ii) transport (airports, railways, underground, bus shelters), iv) university campus, cinemas. Taggalo has already paying customers in Italy, Finland and Singapore and is about to start projects in UK, Germany and US. Taggalo considers Italy and UK as “domestic” markets, which are covered by on the ground business development teams from day one. Taggalo is also negotiating distribution agreements with several partners in key markets to accelerate go to market and provide on the ground assistance to clients.

Taggalo’s core team is composed by a group of highly motivated entrepreneurs, several PhDs in computer vision experts in analytics, retail and outdoor. Selected advisors help Taggalo with door opening and hands on advice.
